Malmö Theatre Academy is forming a platform for their research with the name Öresund Collegium of Artistic Research.

Professor Esa Kirkkopelto is the initiator who believes in building communities and that artistic research needs a critical mass.

-The fundament of this is in the name itself, a collegium, where the members provide each other with knowledge from studies and research related to, or relevant for, artistic research. Our meetings will be meaningful and open for practitioners, researchers and students interested in research collaborations in the Öresund region, says Esa Kirkkopelto.

The first of numerous collegium events taking place this semester is a discussion on September 24 about the rejection of the doctoral dissertation of artist-researcher Bogdan Szyber and the local resonances of the “Vienna Declaration on Artistic Research". Panelists are Henrik Frisk (Professor, Royal College of Music in Stockholm) and Niclas Östlind (Scientific Advisor, Swedish Research Council).
